VanPUG is proud to present our new website. It is powered by the Drupal content management system. We chose Drupal to power the new web site because:

1. It is written PHP
2. It is very easy to use
3. It allows us quickly update content

Unfortunately with the change over we could not migrate over the old data. We invite you to register with us again and participate in the growing Vancouver PHP community.

Cal Henderson from Ludicorp will be giving a presentation on how they used PHP as a part of Flickr, Ludicorp's photo sharing service.

The presentation will be a whirlwind tour of the flickr system architecture and how php fits into it. It will include RSS/Atom, designing APIs, Blogging, alternate interfaces, scaling for large applications, supporting unicode, PEAR, smarty, the horror that is XML, talking to non-php apps and probably some other things besides.

Door open at 6:15. Pizza and pop will arrive at 6:30. Meeting will start at 7:00pm.

The presentation will be at Sophos (580 Granville), upstairs in the mezzanine. Don't be late as doors will be locked by 7:00.
